THE ISLE OF PURBECK: Sunday April 21st
Experience the Isle of Purbeck on a bike ride designed with the insights of a local and with the support of qualified bike guides.
This is a 50km loop of the stunning Isle of Purbeck's off-road highlights. You'll experience a mix of rewarding climbs, rocky bridleways, smooth gravel tracks and coastal views in every direction.
THE ROUTE
We’ll head out towards RSPB Arne, looking out for local wildlife and protected Ospreys on quiet backroads. Heading West we’ll climb up onto the ridgeline and make our way out towards Creech Hill, with sweeping views down towards the famous Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and military training ranges.
After climbing up from Kimmeridge bay on a fun rocky bridleway we’ll enjoy the reward of a fast, grassy descent with the expansive views all the way to the Isle of Portland and Chesil beach. Our mid way point is Corfe Castle, with traditional cafes and pubs for a lunch stop. From Corfe we climb back onto the ridgeline with a dramatic view of both Swanage and Bournemouth bay, and a long downhill towards Old Harry Rocks.
We finish by traversing Godlingston Nature Reserve back to Norden, with wide gravel tracks, heathland and if we’re lucky wild roaming Purbeck Ponies.
